Thanks for the site, Katie. It was great. I think our brain is our greatest filter and also the most malleable tool on the planet. So I think we'll all cope eventually. Plus we're all innately good at self-preservation so we'll dial down the information when we absolutely need to It's funny how our hunger for information is now making us all feel a little sick. I think, as with all things the answer lies somewhere in the middle. Keep well.

This is definitely an issue that I'm facing now, a need to constantly group people, sites and ideas into different streams. Perhaps that might have something to do with the fact that I'm a librarian though? Information overload is one thing that I suffer from, but also information abundance. I can overload myself with too much to take in, but there is also so much information (and not just online!) that is of interest for me to bookmark for "later" (which never happens). There's some good pointers here.... http://www.9giantsteps.com/?p=242

Exactly. Yeah, its a problem both to manage the information and to find the time. Also, I'm realizing people use it for very different reasons all of which are valid even if they don't match ours. We should each just do our own thing and not take offense. Here's a video by Robert Scobleizer who has tens of thousands of followers on how he manages his time. Might be useful. Good to be in touch. http://adjix.com/cjdr

Agreed on all parts. I'm having a problem with filtering already! People regularly follow and/or friend me on a social network and then complain because I don't reciprocate. I'm not on these networks to have high #s, I'm there to get and give ideas, references, RELEVANT information pertaining to my industry, etc.

I guess I'm already a curator.
